Tell us about your background:

I am the Founder and Creative Director of my eponymous brand that began in a Berlin atelier and debuted in 2015 during New York Fashion Week. The brand has been featured in numerous prominent U.S. and international publications. I was awarded placement in the Gen Art Style Awards two years consecutively and named a Rising Star for Womenswear by the Fashion Group International in 2019. Vogue also stated, “Bass’ designs speak to the woman who isn’t afraid to embrace classic style on her own terms”. (I couldn't leave that out :)

Originally from Tennessee. I moved to New York to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology and went on to develop my skills while working at Bill Blass, Elie Tahari, and Marc Jacobs. I have developed a keen interest in fashion technology over the years after collaborating with Loomia NY to develop a consumer controlled color changing dress that debuted at my Spring/Summer '18 runway show. And, I am continuing to explore this world in hopes of bridging the gap between fashion and tech to reduce consumer excess and waste. Currently, I am working on a textile integration that will ensure a future where our clothing works for us on an emotional level.

Additionally, I consult for both fashion start-ups and established brands, bringing their visions to life through conscious design. I live and work in Brooklyn, NY.
