Tell us about your background:

Hi everyone!
I am currently a junior at Virginia Tech, studying Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Advertising. Growing up, I’ve always loved clothes and styling, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve developed a passion for digital marketing and content creation.

I have social media content creation and brand promotion experience as a student ambassador for the Chrome extension, Locker. This was my first experience outside of the classroom in marketing. I am very passionate about the fashion industry as a whole, but my ultimate goal is to pursue a career in digital marketing or social media marketing.

I also work at a boutique in the town where I go to college. This role has deepened my love for fashion, as I enjoy seeing how an outfit can completely change someone's feelings about themselves.

Now that I am getting closer to my senior year of college, I am eager to gain more hands-on experience. I’m hoping to find an internship for Summer 2025! I’m excited to build meaningful connections and further develop my skills outside of the classroom.

What do you wish you’d known when you started out?

I wish I had known that I would grow the most when I started stepping out of my comfort zone and making connections.

Best career advice you've ever received?

Don't be afraid to put yourself out there!

What leadership qualities are important to you?

Communication is the most important quality in a leader for myself. I want to work with someone who can clearly express their expectations and can provide constructive feedback.

What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far?

As a student, the biggest challenge has been getting that first professional experience to build my resume and to prepare for my life after graduation. I have felt like it can be hard to break through the industry to get an internship without having any prior experience.

And for fun, what is your favorite wardrobe staple?

I love a denim-on-denim outfit! It's my favorite go-to when I'm not feeling inspired.
