In Conversation with Travis Paul Martin

Tell us about your background: 
I have an AA in Fashion Design from FIDM and a BBA in Design and Management from Parsons School of Design, Paris. In high school and college I worked in retail across some of the best brands Gap, J. Crew, Pottery Barn, Apple, Saks Fifth Avenue. I started my PR career at KCD and then went on to work at Krupp Group and BPCM all with a focus in fashion. Over the last six years I've expanded into CPG and Lifestyle clients and have begun exploring the world of performance marketing, including affiliate PR.

What do you wish you’d known when you started out?

How quickly the PR industry would evolve and to have a better understanding of the fundamentals of marketing.

Best career advice you've ever received?

Failure is not a bad thing. Find the lesson in the failure and then move on.

What leadership qualities are important to you?

Honesty and support.

What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far? 

Learning new skills like performance and affiliate marketing.

And for fun, what is your favorite wardrobe staple?

A custom suit and a great pair of jeans.
