Tell us about your background:

I am a Brand Marketing and Communications professional with over 13 years of experience in the US and Asia.

Before striking out on my own, I was previously at Rainbowwave PR agency in New York where I was responsible for events and activations, influencer and celebrity outreach for fashion and jewelry clients including Vilshenko, Perfect Moment, Sarah & Sebastian, and KALITA. I have extensive experience launching brands in New York, including former luxury jeweler Nirav Modi where I led the marketing and communications for the brand’s US launch.

Prior to that, I lived in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, working for luxury retailer Lane Crawford where I was responsible for Press Relations and Marketing as the iconic store was expanding into China.

I am a Texas native and currently based in New York.

What do you wish you’d known when you started out?

In the moments when you are most uncomfortable is where personal growth happens.

Best career advice you've ever received?

You will either work hard to create your dreams, or you will work hard to help someone else fulfill theirs.

What leadership qualities are important to you?

The best leaders I've had were the ones who were not afraid to have the difficult conversations, but approached them with grace and from a supportive mindset.

What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far?

The biggest challenge I've faced in the past was when I decided to pivot my career. It takes a lot of internal searching to really figure out what you want to do and a bit of humility to be ok to accept small setbacks for the sake of getting your foot in the door. I think the industry sometimes makes us believe that there is only one way of doing something, or one way of reaching a goal, but that's just not true. You have to carve a path out for yourself.

And for fun, what is your favorite wardrobe staple?

I almost always wear black, but I love breaking out a cherry red piece every now and then.
