In Conversation with Caroline Harper
Tell us about your background:
I began my career in the fashion industry, working in product development at Alice + Olivia and Gap Inc. As new career and life opportunities emerged, I transitioned into marketing within the beauty space, at companies like Revlon and Conair. While at Conair, I had the opportunity to dive deeper into social media and spearhead the launch of their influencer program. During my time there, I led Target’s first influencer product collaboration with Sincerely Jules x Scünci.
Currently, I work at an agency that partners with brands to develop their social media, influencer marketing, and brand partnership strategies. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with incredible brands and talent, and I’m excited to connect with fellow Co-Lab members!
Best career advice you've ever received?
The are two! "If you never fail, you'll never grow." and "Do it scared."
What leadership qualities are important to you?
I believe great leaders inspire, empower, and lead with both vision and empathy.
How do you define success in your career, and how has that definition evolved over time?
I used to think success was defined by my salary or the title in front of my name, but these days success to me looks like continually putting myself out there and trying new things.
What are your top networking tips for building strong connections in your industry?
Strong relationships are built on authenticity, not just transactions. Prioritize genuine connections by checking in regularly—without an agenda. Celebrate their milestones, acknowledge achievements, and show interest in their life!
