Join us as Susan Joy, co-lab member, Regenerative Strategist and Impact-Focused Fashion Brand Advisor, leads a discussion on insetting vs offsetting with guests David Ekelund, Andrew Nobrega, and Dylon Shepelsky.

Susan Joy is a regenerative strategist and fashion brand advisor, with a background in fashion media, brand and design consulting, and a Master’s in Business for Social Impact and Sustainability. Susan has worked with a broad cross-section of designers, brands, and magazines, including contributing to the New York Times for a decade. A mentor to emerging designers, Susan advised designers in the CFDA Fashion Incubator Program and the USA finalists in the International Woolmark Prize and was instrumental in the development of Jonathan Simkhai - shepherding him from fledgling designer to CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award winner. Susan has a Master’s in Business for Social Impact and Sustainability from Glasgow Caledonian New York College where her research focused on regeneration, transformation, and the fashion industry, as well as a Bachelor’s in Fashion Design and Marketing from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

David Ekelund, Co-founder and co-CEO of Swedish footwear brand Icebug (a B-corp), a champion of moving the playing field between climate action, business and people development forward. Father of three, enthusiastic skier formed chair of the Scandinavian Outdoor Group.

Andrew Nobrega, Director, Innovation & Development, PUR, is an industry leader in nature-based solutions. With 15 years experience, he has worked across six continents in the design and implementation of complex multi-stakeholder insetting initiatives across food, beverage, and textile supply chains. Since 2016, he has been the key leader behind program development and client solutions at PUR. With expertise in impact investments, ecosystem services, and environmental frameworks, Andrew leads PUR’s global team in building and expanding our major programs.

Dylon Shepelsky is the Senior Manager of Product Development at Outerknown. Before joining Outerknown, he gained experience working extensively in materials development with several notable brands including Madewell, Ralph Lauren, etc…. At Outerknown, Dylon leads the Product Development and R&D strategies, furthering his expertise in responsible sourcing and development while continuing to increase the brand's penetration of sustainable and innovative materials.

Café Co-Lab's are small, bi-weekly networking groups focused on specific topics. They are an opportunity for co-lab members to connect, share resources , and engage with other members.
