Café co-lab: Marketing Lunch Hour moderated by Libby Gluck with guest Jessica Nelson, Merchandising Executive – Former Kendra Scott, LVMH

Join us as co-lab member and Marketing Director of Brahmin Leather Works, Libby Gluck, leads a discussion surrounding hot topics in marketing.

In our first Marketing Lunch Hour for 2023, we are excited to chat with Jessica Nelson, former VP of Merchandising, Planning, & Allocation at Kendra Scott. We will discuss how merchandising and marketing can work together to drive business, how the role of the merchant has evolved, as well as the crucial lessons she learned from her marketing counterparts as she embarks on her own consulting business.

More about Jessica: Jessica Nelson launched her consultancy in 2022 to leverage her expansive history in the accessories space and offer services to a wide range of CPG businesses. Jessica was most recently VP of Merchandising, Planning, and Allocations at Kendra Scott. In her role, she drove successful product strategies targeted to continue the dynamic growth of the Austin based brand, and led the buying teams to get the right products in the hands of customers in the brand's rapidly growing wholesale and eCommerce presence, and its 110- store retail network. She then spent 16 years in New York City, leading Global Accessories product and buying strategies for some of the most iconic fashion brands, including Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, and Kate Spade. Her range of experience has cultivated a unique and highly tuned skillset in the areas of product, retail, and innovation strategies, both at billion-dollar brands as well as startups. Jessica moved back to Austin from NYC to join Kendra Scott, driven by the company’s brand pillars: Family, Fashion, and Philanthropy. She was involved in Kendra Scott’s Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute at the University of Texas, her alma mater, and co-taught a course on Accessories Design for the Institute in the College of Fine Arts.
