Tell us about your background:
For as long as I can remember, I have grown up with a strong interest in fashion and the glamour surrounding the fashion world. With time, my interest guided me to pursue it as a career, and I got into one of the best fashion schools in my country. I completed my degree in Fashion Styling, moved on to marketing for an E-commerce fashion brand, and am now onto the next chapter of my life, studying Luxury Brand Management at SCAD.

With time, I have understood that it is a struggle to survive in this ever-evolving industry, but that also is my driving force for succeeding in it. I want to immerse myself in this massive world of fashion while carving my name in it.

What do you wish you’d known when you started out?

I never truly understood the massive competition that comes with wanting to be part of this industry and the challenge of navigating your way through it. With time and my exposure to how this industry works, I have found it essential to let your hard work, network, and skill prove your worth.

Best career advice you've ever received?

One thing I have repeatedly been told and have learned is that you must never stop learning. You have to keep evolving with the times.

What leadership qualities are important to you?

I think it's important for a leader to be agile, have a strong hold on communication, be participative, be able to lead through examples, and be approachable.

What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far?

One struggle I have dealt with time and time again is finding a job that values my output to the company. I feel like being a part of this industry, the education, and the skill building takes a lot of time, effort, and financial resources. However, stepping out into the job market devalues you so much that somewhere along the way, you lose your worth.

As much as I am in it to seek experience and knowledge, gain expertise, and contribute, I would also like to be compensated for what I am bringing to the table.

And for fun, what is your favorite wardrobe staple?

Over the years, I have seen my style evolve, and I have gone from being influenced by others' styles to experimenting with my own to, finally, a somewhat stable state! I find myself drawn to black and white prints or styles, and my staple would be a black dress with a black and white checkered blazer.
