In Conversation with Paula Haza

Tell us about your background: 

I'm originally from Brazil and have built a career in the US in the last 15 years helping Global Apparel/Retail Brands to expand presence Internationally. I love to work with International markets, from market due diligence, contract negotiation to building relationship and working closely with local operators. I've built a vast network of international brand operators globally by working for large portfolio companies and now would love to leverage my experience and network to help smaller brands across fashion, beauty, wellness to reach customers in different cultures.

What do you wish you’d known when you started out?

Live the moment, do not be so impatient about the future.

Best career advice you've ever received?

Focus on doing the best job you can today, learning as much as you can from the opportunities that the money/promotion will follow.

What leadership qualities are important to you?

Communication, integrity, someone who is able to lead by example.

What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far? 

When new management doesn’t demonstrate the leadership skills to create a good work environment, it may be time to pivot sooner than expected or get involved to create the change you want to see at the company.

And for fun, what is your favorite wardrobe staple?

Love accessories, jewelry, bags, etc....
