Tell us about your background:
I am the Global Managing Director of Partnerships at Christie's, where I have worked for the past two decades. In 2019, I published The Most Powerful Woman in the Room is You, based on my experience as the youngest female charity auctioneer at Christie's to inspire other women to command an audience and sell their way to success.
What do you wish you’d known when you started out?
I wish I understood how important it is to advocate for yourself, both financially and professionally. You are the only one responsible for mapping out your career goals and achieving those goals. Ask for help whenever you need it, but understand ultimately it is up to you to make it happen.
Best career advice you've ever received?
Say yes to every opportunity. Even if you don't immediately know how to do it, you can figure it out -- and by pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, you might find another opportunity that you never knew was possible.
What leadership qualities are important to you?
The most important quality in a leader is the ability to inspire others to bring their best self to the table every day. A clear vision, empathy, and the ability to motivate will help any leader succeed no matter what they endeavor to do.
What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far?
Keeping my team motivated and engaged during covid was definitely the most challenging part of my career. My team was dealing with pregnancy, the loss of a parent, lay-offs, pay cuts, and an uncertain future for our company. I felt responsible for keeping them focused and moving forward, while at the same time supporting them emotionally.
And for fun, what is your favorite wardrobe staple?
Oversized earrings, a feminine dress and a great pair of heels.
