In Conversation with Andrew Pieris

Tell us about your background:

I was born in Sri Lanka, but I spent most of my formative years in London working in all aspects of the Fashion Industry. I started my journey in the Fashion industry by interning at Alexander McQueen while he was alive; this has led me to work for several major brands in the capacity of styling to design to all other aspects of the business. I am a multifaceted individual with worldly experience and knowledge of Fashion. Currently, I'm in the Store Design And Visual Merchandising/ concept design realm of the industry.

What do you wish you’d known when you started out?

Risks are the key to success.

Best career advice you've ever received?

Believe in yourself, and always keep your eyes open. anything and everything can inspire you.

What leadership qualities are important to you?

Organization, team building, communication, efficiency, and collaboration.

What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far? 

The biggest challenge has been expressing myself and staying true to my style and vision while still following corporate guidelines.

And for fun, what is your favorite wardrobe staple?

SHOES! A shoe can break or make the DEAL!
