In Conversation with Andrea Robredo Ruiz
Tell us about your background:
Born in Spain, worked for numerous luxury fashion houses in Italy, the UK and now in NYC where I consult at the Director level. I come from a family tradition linked to design and I always dreamed of redefining the female POV for design approach.
What do you wish you’d known when you started out?
Never let anyone undervalue you. Believing in yourself gets you far in our industry.
Best career advice you've ever received?
About a new opportunity: make sure you feel 50% excited and motivated and 50% challenged and afraid.
What leadership qualities are important to you?
Fairness, kindness and not taking anything too seriously, especially yourself.
What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far?
Understanding that the right time and right place are just as important as work ethic and talent.
And for fun, what is your favorite wardrobe staple?
Any of my fun printed vintage Prada skirts, so easy to wear with a sweater and dress up or down.
