Libby Sommer, Director of Corporate Responsibility

Bolt’s Director of Corporate Responsibility, Libby Sommer, began her career at the US Environmental Protection Agency, where she collaborated with numerous consumer goods companies on Green Chemistry-driven improvements to their products. After eight years at EPA, she worked in the apparel and footwear industry with Nike and Lululemon among other brands developing their chemicals management and environmental programs. Now, Libby guides Bolt’s Corporate Responsibility strategy and provides environmental and social impact direction to the teams bringing our materials to life.

Marilla Perkins, Sr Director Marketing and Strategic Comms

Bolt’s Sr. Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications, started her career working at advertising agencies overseeing award-winning global campaigns for brands like Volvo Cars and Liberty Mutual Insurance. It was her time working on Google, specifically on an initiative that encouraged young girls to study STEM, that inspired Marilla to movein-house where she could work on products and brands that aligned with her values. Now, Marilla oversees strategy, marketing, and public relations for Bolt Threads and its innovative materials including Mylo. She has secured coverage in the New York Times, Vogue, WWD, and Financial Times for Mylo and it’s brand partners including adidas, Stella McCartney, and lululemon. Marilla has recently completed the Circular EconomyMasterclass at the University of Exeter.
