the co-lab panel: Cultivating Community Through Clothing

We'll hear from the founders of M.PATMOS, Indi, and 11.11 / eleven eleven as they discuss sustainability and ethical practices in fashion

Marcia Patmos, M.PATMOS

Merging fashion with art, design, and a deep knowledge of manufacturing and production techniques, Marcia Patmos creates garments intended to be worn for years, not single seasons. Her aim is to provide an elevated, easy-wearing wardrobe comprised of beautifully made clothing with just as much comfort as style. This includes the combination of traditional techniques with modern technological innovations to create an elegant and refined collection made by people earning a fair wage and working under safe labor conditions. M.PATMOS is an elevated brand for a special customer who understands the leading edge of fashion and sustainability.

Mia Morikawa, 11.11/eleven eleven

Mia Morikawa, Graphic Design graduate from Central Saint Martin’s University of the Arts, London & Shani Himanshu, Master’s in Fashion Design from Domus Academy, Milan. 11.11 / eleven eleven has consolidated its roots in the luxury space, with an emphasis on creating links between farmers, weavers, vegetable dyeing and block printing traditions. This has resulted in the formation of a brand that has created grounds for ethical products while ensuring sustainability of local strengths. The khadi way is the 11.11 / eleven eleven vision to build meaningful & beautiful products by tracing the supply chain story from seed to stitch.

Matthew Aprile, Indi

indi is designed to honor artisans and invest in the empowerment and education of kids in our communities. In all that we do, we honor artisan traditions and the communities where these traditions were born. Each piece we design is created in collaboration with our artisan partners and respects their craft through fair wages and consumer education.

How we make our clothes stands in opposition to the trends of the fashion industry. By implementing ethical business models and a commitment to natural print processes, we’re able to offer high-quality clothing while respecting the planet and the economy. By streamlining our supply chain and cutting out unnecessary agents, we’re able to reallocate 20% of the cost of production into education initiatives in the communities we partner with. Established and reputable partners like Girl2B ensure that these efforts are creating meaningful and lasting impact.
