Join us as Kristy interviews designer and foodie Peter Som about fashion, food, and how it’s never too late for a career pivot.

Peter is a Creative Director and Fashion Designer with more than 25 years in the fashion industry. He is the founder of his namesake Womenswear clothing brand which has received critical recognition from leaders in editorial, retail and business sectors. Distribution has included Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Moda Operandi, Rent the Runway as well as premiere specialty boutiques and distribution points globally and online. He has had commercially successful branded collaborations with The Inside, Kohl’s, Anthropologie, Sferra, Lancôme and more. Accolades and awards have included: CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalist, CFDA Award for Emerging Talent (twice), Cooper Hewitt National Design Award Finalist, FGI Rising Star Award and the Ecco Domani Fashion Fund Award. Many notable women including Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Scarlett Johansson, and Maggie Gyllenhaal have worn his clothes.

He has consulted with a vast array of brands ranging from mass market Fortune 500 companies to luxury heritage brands and startups. His experience with his own brand affords him a holistic 360 view when consulting for companies.

Peter is also a recipe contributor to the FeedFeed and Purewow and has also been featured in Bon Appetit, Food and Wine, Refinery29 and more.

Finally, he is a visiting guest critic at Parsons the New School and Savannah College of Art and Design and has also guest lectured at NYU Stern, NYU School of Law and Harvard Business School. Peter is a CFDA Member.
